Five Great Homemade Ways to Clean Your Dentures, Atlanta

BY buckhead smile center
  1. Dentures are temporary teeth. They can last for a duration of five to seven years. After this, they may become loose and ill-fitting and may need to be replaced. Dentures need to be removed each night before a person goes to sleep. They are not worn at night. They are worn over the teeth and gums of a person. They are placed in a container full of cleansing liquid into which a cleansing tablet has been added. They are brushed with this cleansing liquid each night after being taken out of the mouth. They should be kept clean and tidy at all times since they made develop plaque formation otherwise and start looking dull and stained. This has to be professionally cleaned at times.
  2. Dentures can also be cleaned with the help of toothpaste which is meant for this purpose. Toothpastes for dentures are available in the market these days. The bristles of the toothbrush should be soft but firm. The dentures can also be brushed with soap water. For this, warm some water and place a small piece of soap in it which should be shaken up to dissolve it. The soapy water can be used for brushing the teeth. After this, the dentures can be washed with clean, tap water.
  3. Vinegar is a simple and effective way to clean dentures. The acid in the vinegar dissolves the tartar which accumulates on the dentures. Take three to four tablespoons of vinegar in a bowl. Add about twice the quantity of warm water to it. Place the dentures into this solution for about half an hour. The best way to cleanse the dentures is to soak the dentures in it for about eight to nine hours or on an overnight basis. However, do make it a point to wash the dentures properly with water after taking them out of this solution. They will shine like new after this treatment.
  4. One usually has baking soda at home for some domestic use or another. One can make a natural toothpaste with baking soda at home. Combine two teaspoons of baking soda with a bit of water to make it into a thin paste-like substance. Make use of a soft-bristled toothbrush and this paste to brush your dentures with. Make sure to brush for a good one and a half to two minutes to take out all the food particles which may be stuck in between the false teeth. Wash the dentures properly after this and then use them.
  5. This is big news! Dentures can be microwaved by killing the germs and harmful bacteria which may accumulate on them with time. However, this should not be done too often. The heat which is generated by the microwave is a very useful element for clean ship purposes. However, this method can be used just for killing bacteria, not for cleaning up the dentures. The dentures will still need to be cleaned up with other methods.
